About

Metapod is the Dtella release bot. It is a relatively simple mIRC script that will announce new releases as well as retain them so people are able to view the latest releases.

2. Check to see what's been downloaded recently
   1.  !new *CATEGORY* *NUMBER*
   2. *NUMBER* is optional
   3. *CATEGORY* is the same as the above example

Category System

The category system is very important. The syntax for !new, !release and !add has changed and is outlined below in the commands section. Please take a look at the new commands below. As always if you have questions, suggestions or criticisms, feel free to ask in the main chat or PM saigon!

Release Channel

To join the release channel, you will need to connect via IRC. If you would like to know how to do this, feel free to ask in the chat. The channel is #release. The command for most IRC clients to join this channel is: /join #release

IMPORTANT

As listed below, there are two different release commands. ONLY USE !release IF THE RELEASE IS BIG. THIS MEANS POPULAR TV SHOWS, HIGHLY ANTICIPATED MOVIES, GAMES AND MUSIC. DO NOT !release EVERY SMALL THING YOU ADD, USE !add FOR THAT

Commands (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

Anywhere

1.  !new (CATEGORY) (optional 1-30) - Changed syntax as of 12/03/09 - The number is optional. For all releases type "!new all". If you type "!new", metapod will PM you with a list of the categories.
2.  !recommend - A new feature that will encourages Dtella users to recommend certain releases to other Dtella users. The !new command now shows the number of people who have recommended a release. If you like something you've downloaded, recommend it so someone else can enjoy it too!

In #Release

- Releases

1.  !tv - This will display the link to the wiki page, detailing what shows are automatically downloaded
2.  !stats (PERSON) - This will show you how many releases the person queried has. Think you can be number 1?
3.  !search (TERM) - Searches the release database for the query, returns up to 5 results.
4.  !release (RELEASE NAME HERE) - Example syntax: !release Scrubs.S04E05.HDTV.XviD-LOL - This command will add your release to metapod's database and will also announce to Dtella and the #release channel that there is a new release. You will get a notice to confirm that metapod has added your release.
5.  !add (CATEGORY) (RELEASE NAME HERE) - Example syntax: !add tv-sd Scrubs.S04E05.HDTV.XviD-LOL - This command does the same as !release, but it does not announce the release to Dtella. Use this for adding non-major releases into the database.
6.  !new (CATEGORY) (optional 1-30) - This does the same thing as the !new commands in the main channel (see above). If you specify a number, metapod will message you that latest X releases. If you try to put a number above 30, metapod will only display 30 to you anyways.

- Requests

1.  !requests (optional 1-50) - Lists the last X requests to you.
2.  !searchreq (TERM) - Searches the request database for the query, returns up to 5 results.
3.  !addreq (CATEGORY) (REQUEST NAME HERE) - Example syntax: "!addreq tv-sd The Office" - This will add your request to the request database. When your request is filled, metapod will send you a message informing you. If you're not online, metapod will message you next time you are online.
4.  !fillreq uid# - Example syntax: !fillreq 70 - This will mark the given request as filled by you and will modify the timestamp to reflect when it was filled.

- Release Team Only Commands

1.  !reldel (uid#) - Removes the release from the database.
2.  !delreq (uid#) - Removes the request from the request database.
3.  !fixcat (uid#) (CATEGORY) - Changes category for stated uid

Release and Request Categories

Categories are the following: Anime, Music, MusicVideos, Movies-SD, Movies-HD, Apps-Mac, Apps-Win, Games-Handheld, Wii, XBOX360, Games-PC, TV-SD, TV-HD, XXX, Other, All

If you mistype or try to put something in a category it doesn't belong, metapod will message you back with the correct categories.
