Introduction

This page contains the current instructions on how to upgrade DCgate. DCgate has two major distribution mediums: ZIP and EXE files. Please note how you would like to upgrade DCgate and follow the instructions below.

Note: These instructions are for UPGRADING only. If you are installing for the first time, these instructions DO NOT apply to you

Upgrade DCgate ZIP Distribution

If you originally used the ZIP file distribution, follow these instructions:

• First shutdown DCgate and DC++
• Download the latest version from: http://www.dcgate.net/?m=downloads
• Extract the ZIP file to the current location of your DCgate files.
• Run "dcgate.exe"
• Run DC++ or other DC Client.

Upgrade DCgate EXE Distribution

If you installed DCgate using the EXE installer, follow these instructions:

• Go to the DCgate folder in the Start Menu
• Click "Check for Updates"
• You will be prompted to install the latest version. Please follow the on-screen instructions.
